Yes, despite being next to a power station, Mum had numerous power issues over the weekend!

It started with her battery pack (brand new) refusing to charge up. Then one of her 2 lanterns refused to charge. Saturday saw us all set up (complete with new garden), Mum in the tent with a glass of wine... when disaster stuck! Her 'charged' lantern lasted all of 5 mins and plunged her into darkness with half a glass still to go! Thankfully she finished it in the dark with no great difficulty but was annoyed all the same.

Roll on Sunday and, despite having at least half battery power if not more, Mum's phone turned itself off! The only way she could get it to come back was to take the battery out and put it back but a few mins later it was off again. Eventually even that stopped working. Thankfully, come Monday it turned back on and stayed on all day... very odd!

Anyway, aside from the power issues and the weather, which was very cold and occasionally wet and/or hail-stoning, we didn’t do too badly! Pepper and I managed to come second on Sunday, I got 3rd and Pepper came 4th on Monday too. The rest of the teams did well on the whole (I think Mum lost track of who’s done what!). Pepper and my team managed to run 20 seconds dead on one leg… Aunty Paula says she wants us to go sub 19 so Pepper needs to get her feet going! And Mum says I got to stop dawdling on the way back… who? Me? Never!
